This year has been a rough one at the Valencia Co Shelter with euthanasia numbers being higher than they have been for many years. Euthanasia rates are averaging at 49% with an approximate 30% increase in intake numbers since 2019.
We took a short break and now must tackle this upsetting problem we have here. Our goal is to make spay/neuter vouchers even more accessible to those that need them. We will be going out into the neighborhoods with the shot clinics this fall. Our team of board members and volunteers will personally hand out vouchers from both our non-profit, from VCSNAP and from the shelter, all of whom will continue to be our partners. We will go directly into the county communities where dog and cat intakes are the highest. We will be back and open on December 1st!
Our annual holiday auction starts in November, visit our Facebook page for details! Please consider making a donation to help us stop this endless suffering.
